Set in a magnificent Victorian house, Kloof Street House is more than just a restaurant – it’s an experience. The grand old dame is a collection of interesting rooms and spaces, each bursting with character. The venue is everything for every occasion – live jazz over Sunday lunch, romantic candle lit dinners in their intimate dining rooms, or cocktails under the trees in the garden. For more than a decade, Asoka (meaning ‘The Great’) has been one of the gems of Kloof Street. Offering guests incredible inside and outside spaces, you can expect a sensual experience where the music is intoxicating and the energy is palpable.
Set around the legendary Olive tree, this eastern-styled restaurant meets bar, believes in the power of food and music to bring people together. Yours Truly Café & Bar
Opened in 2014, Yours Truly has become one of Cape Town's favourite hang outs. Underneath Jacaranda trees, immersed in greenery, this trendy restaurant offers a unique breather from the hustle and bustle of the city. Cafe by day (think sandwiches, salads, wraps and pizza) and beer garden by night, Yours Truly has a regular following second to none, and will give any visitor to Cape Town a very accurate snapshot of the local city-dwelling community.
El Burro Taqueria
For authentic Mexican cuisine and tequila, look no further! This quirky spot, perched on the corner of Tamboerskloof’s busiest road, will impress you from the get go. It’s colourful interior and adventurous menu is a feast for all senses, and appeals to both locals and tourists.
